McAfee SiteAdvisor Slams CoffeeCup Software

McAfee SiteAdvisor Blacklists Reputable Software Company.

Coffeecup Software is a reputable web design software company with an impeccible reputation and a history of complaince with spam rules. They do not manufacture software with adware, spyware or any other known malicious files, so why is McAfee SiteAdvisor saying they do? I was directed to the site by a friend who had received a warning from their McAfee Anti-Virus software that Coffeecup.com is a known threat. In fact there are probably millions of internet users receiving the same warnings.

SiteAdvisor.com is a website run by McAfee, a long time Anti-Virus software company and Nortons biggest competitor. They have set up a website and sytem to warn users of potentially threatening sites through their Anti-Virus software. Now something has gone horribly wrong and someone has found a loophole in the system and used it to their advantage to inflict damage on innocent companies.

Language Translator installed

I have just finished installing the site translator plug-in from Simple Thoughts http://blog.taragana.com/ Now this site can be read in 9 different languages. To translate the page simply click on the flag that represents your country. I had recently noticed that this site gets alot of traffic from all over the world and wondered if people from far away places could actually read the information here. I didnt want the information here to be exclusive to one language so I found this great plugin. I am sure the resources here are valuable and applicable globally so I hope this will be helpful to everyone. For anyone else who has a Blog and posts information you really should get this plugin and stop leaving out a good portion of your visitors. Enjoy.

What’s It Take To Be Successful On The Internet?

By Bill Watson,

This is a tough question no matter which way you look at it but here is my attempt at making an outline.

First of all I don’t claim to be highly successful. Sure I’ve learned a few things and I make a few bucks from the Internet but I’m no Cory Rudl or Mike Filsaime.

I do know how to watch trends and analyze them though and I have noticed a few things from what I see throughout the infinitesimally SMALL section of the Internet that I browse and surf everyday.

Web Standards, Browsers and Designing for the future

At present, a vast majority of webmasters are designing for IE (Internet Explorer) 6, which is not as W3C standards compliant as is FireFox, Netscape, Safari and Opera.

In my article – “The importance of sound website design & search spiders to Internet Marketers,” I mentioned the importance of a designer being cognizant of the fact that web browser standards are not yet fully harmonized – a web page that looks great in Internet Explorer (6) might look hideous in a Mozilla based browser like FireFox or Netscape.
